Privacy Policy
Mercutio ("we," "our," or "us") values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile keyboard extension ("Keyboard"). By installing or using Mercutio, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Keyboard Input Data: We do not store or log what you type, including sensitive data (passwords, payment details, private messages).
Personal Information: Age range and dating preferences (optional).
Screenshot Data: When you take a screenshot, it's sent to OpenAI via our servers for processing. We never see or store your screenshots -- they're deleted immediately after processing. OpenAI processes the data via their API and does not use it for model training. The AI provider only accesses your data to generate suggestions, not for their own purposes. Before any screenshot data is shared, we obtain your explicit consent through an in-app disclosure screen.
Usage Data: Message generation count, daily request count, feature preferences (capitalization style, flirt level).
Device Info: App version (for compatibility purposes).
2. How We Use Your Information
Provide AI-powered message suggestions.
Remember your style preferences.
Enforce usage limits and prevent abuse.
Process payments for premium features (via Apple).
3. What We Do Not Collect
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not store what you type.
We do not store screenshots.
We do not access your photo library.
4. How We Share Your Information
Service Providers: We use OpenAI for AI-powered reply generation and Railway for cloud hosting. They only access your data to provide these services -- not for their own purposes. OpenAI's data protection practices meet or exceed the protections described in this policy.
Legal: We may share information if required by law.
Business Transfers: If Mercutio is acquired, your data may transfer to the new owner under this same policy.
We never sell or rent your data.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active.
You can delete your account and all data at any time from within the app.
7. Children's Privacy
Mercutio is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Third-Party Services
OpenAI: We use OpenAI's API to analyze conversation screenshots and generate reply suggestions. Screenshot data sent via the API is processed in real time, is not retained by OpenAI after processing, and is not used for model training.
Apple StoreKit: We use Apple's in-app purchase system for subscription payments, governed by Apple's privacy policy.
These third parties provide the same or equal level of data protection as described in this policy.

12. Important iOS "Full Access" Note
On iOS, granting Full Access allows the keyboard to communicate with its servers to generate AI responses. We do not transmit or store what you type. You may disable Full Access at any time in iOS Settings → Keyboards.
